WHY IT MATTERS
Australians are living longer than ever.
But living longer isn't the same as living well. Falls, frailty, chronic pain and social isolation rob too many older Australians of the independence and purpose they've earned.
NARI's Thriving in Later Life research pillar funds the evidence, tools and community programs that change this. From falls prevention delivered through local councils, to exercise programs in aged-care facilities, to population studies that shape national policy. This is research with direct, measurable impact on the people it serves.
Every gift is pooled with other donors to fund the projects NARI's researchers identify as highest impact, highest need, right now.
Your gift
What your gift can do
Here is what a gift makes possible.
Funds 10 falls-risk assessments
Each assessment identifies modifiable risk factors for an older adult. It is their first step toward a tailored prevention plan.
Trains a community health worker
Equips one local worker to deliver NARI's falls-prevention program to their community, typically reaching 30–40 older adults.
Seeds a pilot study
Provides early-stage funding for a PhD researcher to test a new intervention, laying the foundation for larger federally funded studies.
GIVE
Give to Thriving in Later Life
Your donation is tax-deductible and directed entirely to research in this pillar. We'll send you an update twice a year on the projects your gift is supporting.
