About NARI

Evidence and advocacy for better ageing since 1976.

For 50 years, NARI has been helping Australians age well through independent, evidence-based ageing research.

Working alongside older people, families, healthcare professionals, government, and community organisations, we turn research into practical solutions that make a real difference.

What we do

Research that changes how Australia ages.

NARI is Australia’s first academic centre focused on ageing research. We bring together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, aged care providers, and community members to improve the lives of older Australians through rigorous, evidence-based research.

Our research shapes healthier ageing, improves health and aged care services and informs policies that affect older Australians every day.

Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital campus, NARI leads translational research that informs healthcare, influences policy, and creates measurable outcomes for people and communities.

50 years.
