Culturally adapting screening tools for depression and anxiety

To support reliable screening and assessment for older Chinese people, NARI culturally adapted the Geriatric Depression Scale and the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory.

To facilitate reliable screening and assessment for older Chinese people with depression and anxiety, we culturally adapted the Geriatric
Depression Scale (GDS) and the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI).

Funded by Beyond Blue, versions of these tools are freely available for use by health professionals working with older Chinese Australians.
