The Centre for STRONG Medicine presents a multidisciplinary service designed to improve function and quality of life in older adults living with chronic disease and frailty. Based on the 1999 Balmain Hospital model, the program integrates progressive resistance training, nutrition, and geriatric care to address sarcopenia, osteoporosis, and falls risk.
Since its 2022 launch at Concord Hospital, the service has assessed over 780 patients, with a completion rate of approximately 90%. The presentation covers the clinical framework, evidence base, outcomes, and role in addressing ageing population demands.
