FORMAT
Online seminar, 1 hour
This seminar addresses resource allocation and decision-making in home care. It explores how home health care resources are distributed and what effects home health care services have on outcomes in aged care.
The research uses interRAI data from Canada’s home care program (2010–2018) to examine the impact of service type and intensity on length of stay and transfer to long-term care, aiming to identify services that keep people ageing in their homes longer.
About the presenter
Dr Danelle Kenny
Dr Kenny conferred her PhD in 2025, applying behavioural economic theory to the evaluation of resource-allocation under consumer directed care in the Australian home care package program. She previously worked as a researcher with UQ’s Centre for Health Services Research on economic evaluation of health services. She led the MRFF-funded COM-IC project, which developed Australia’s first core outcome set for dementia care in routine settings.
