NARI is concerned for the wellbeing of older Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic.

People aged 70 years and over are at greater risk of more serious illness if they are infected with COVID-19. And it is likely they will have to self-isolate for longer than younger people.

For this reason, we’ve developed practical resources to help you stay fit, healthy and connected during this difficult time.

Healthy Eating

Eating nutritious meals can increase your energy and strength, and help fight infection. Learn about the most important nutrients to include in a healthy diet.

Staying Active and Healthy

Keeping physically active will help you maintain strength, balance and overall health. It is also great for mental health, and can help you sleep better.

Health Conditions

Make sure you keep taking your medications and keep in touch with your GP. Telephone and online consultations may be available if you don’t want to visit the surgery.

Shopping, Meals and Food

You may continue to shop for essentials, and there are many resources available to help you get the food, medication and supplies you need.

Mental Wellbeing

You may be feeling isolated from family and friends, and missing regular activities. It’s normal to feel a bit stressed and anxious. But there are many things you can do to stay well and positive during this time.

Keeping engaged
